Our take
If you want a belt that's yours, ChokeSports' custom belts are the most personalisable option we found. They're made to order in Japan, and you can have a name or short phrase embroidered in English or Japanese, choosing from six fonts and ten thread colours, with about 8 inches of space on each end.
You also choose the rank bar (red with white borders, plain red, navy or white) and can have degrees embroidered permanently instead of using tape. A simple one-colour logo, such as your academy's, can be added by asking customer service; that needs an embroidery mould, a one-off fee of around $80 to $100.
Two things to know before you order: custom belts can't be returned or exchanged, and changes aren't accepted once production starts. Check the spelling twice.
